Environmental Policy

Pearls that are selected by South Sea Pearl LLC are obtained from environmentally and socially responsible sources. We have strict guidelines which are followed by the pearl farms that we partner with to obtain our Tahitian, South Sea, Keshi and Freshwater Pearls.

Our South Sea Pearls are from oysters grown in eco friendly environments. The oysters are handled with utmost care, hung in nets holding nine to twelve oysters which are suspended under water. Barnacles and algae grow naturally on the net. This attracts small fish, which then attracts larger fish and its own eco-system is created.

When the pearl is ready, it is harvested with sterile surgical instruments by skilled experts and then the oyster is grafted with another nucleus. Then the slow process begins again, and another breathtaking pearl is created by nature in this tropical paradise.
